A friend of mine would not come with me to an indian restaraunt!!?

He said the reason is because when he was in india he said they wipe there backside with one hand so thay can eat with the other!!Is this even partly true??and if so how is the level of hygene in preparing food in india because it put my friend off but i on the other hand dont want to believe a word because i love indian food!!:)
